Terms & Conditions — Internship Programs

1. Introduction

By applying for or participating in any internship opportunity offered or coordinated by the Higher Education Department ("HED"), the applicant agrees to these Terms & Conditions. These terms apply in addition to any specific program rules provided with an internship posting.

2. Eligibility

Internships are generally open to students and recent graduates who meet the eligibility criteria specified in each internship posting. Applicants must provide accurate information and supporting documents when requested.

1. Applicants must be enrolled in or graduated from an accredited institution, unless an internship posting states otherwise.
2. HED may require proof of identity, academic standing, or other documentation prior to placement.

3. Application & Selection

Submission of an application does not guarantee placement. Selection is at the sole discretion of the host organisation or HED, and may consider merit, suitability, and available vacancies.

• False or misleading information may result in rejection or termination of an internship.
• Applicants may be required to attend interviews, tests, or provide references.

4. Data Collection & Privacy

HED collects and processes personal data provided during the application process for the purpose of administering internships. Data will be handled in accordance with applicable Indian laws and HED's privacy practices.

5. Conduct & Supervision

Interns are expected to behave professionally, comply with host organisation policies, and follow lawful instructions from supervisors. Misconduct may result in dismissal.

6. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, any work produced by an intern during the internship may be subject to the intellectual property policies of the host organisation. Applicants should seek clarification from the host organisation before starting work.

7. Liability & Insurance

HED makes reasonable efforts to facilitate internships but does not guarantee outcomes. HED is not liable for any loss, injury, or damages arising from participation in internships except where required by law. Applicants are responsible for arranging their own insurance where necessary.

8. Termination

Either party may terminate an internship as per the rules of the host organisation. HED may suspend or terminate facilitation services if an applicant breaches these Terms.

9. Changes to Terms

HED may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The most recent version and effective date will be published on the department's official internship portal.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising under these Terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Odisha.
